At the beginning of April Melissa Quijano, president of Nu Skin Enterprises Southeast Asia stated, that Thailand is quite in line with the regional performance for Nu Skin in terms of growth: "We believe that with the big sponsoring and commission initiative to be launched in Thailand in the next quarter, we are going to increase our growth and achieve the 15-per-cent figure targeted locally for the whole year. Some direct-selling firms here have even disclosed declining performance in the first quarter."

For the twelve months ended December 31, 2008, revenue was $77.2 million, an increase of 40.7% compared to $54.9 million for the twelve months ended December 31, 2007. Net income for the twelve months ended December 31, 2008 was $27.7 million, or $0.39 per share, compared to $17.9 million, or $0.25 per share for the twelve months ended December 31, 2007.

PROVO, Utah based Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. announced that more than 100,000 trees are being donated to villages in Malawi thanks to the company's distributors and customers who have purchased Epoch Baobab Body Butter. Since launching the product in January 2008, the company has donated $0.25 from the sale of every Epoch Baobab Body Butter to the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation's Seeds of Hope reforestation project. Andrea Jung, the chairman and chief executive of cosmetics company Avon Products Inc., received compensation valued at $19.6 million in 2008, up almost 76 percent from a year earlier, while leading a turnaround at the cosmetics company, according to an Associated Press analysis of a regulatory filing on Friday. But some of that compensation came in stock that has declined in value.

Herbalife Ltd. announced that Lawrence Higby has joined its board of directors. "We're very excited about Larry joining our board," said Michael O. Johnson, chairman and CEO. "He brings a wealth of experience from business, government, and the boardroom, which will be of great benefit to me, our shareholders, distributors, and employees." Higby has served as vice chairman and advisor of Apria Healthcare Group Inc. since October 2008. He was part of its management team since 1997; as president and chief operating officer from 1997 to 2002, and then as chief executive officer from 2002 to 2008. He also served as a director from 2002 to 2008. |

Herbalife Ltd., a global nutrition and direct selling company, paid out a record US$36.4 million in bonuses to independent distributors at its Mark Hughes Bonus Award ceremony in Beverly Hills on Sunday, 22nd of March. The independent distributors represented 30 countries and all have built their own businesses and achieved success through direct selling. With 90 checks over US$100,000, the top six bonus winners received checks for US$1 million or more.
