The US direct selling company XanGo and Major League Soccer’s Real Salt Lake (RSL) announced a three-year renewal of the club’s historic title jersey-front sponsorship; financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The original contract, announced in October 2006, made history in being the first jersey-front sponsorship in U.S professional sports. Since that time, several other Major League soccer clubs have announced similar partnerships with major global brands. |

On July 7, 2009 Herbalife Ltd., a global nutrition and direct-selling company based in Los Angeles, California, USA, announced that China's Ministry of Commerce has granted five additional licenses for the company to conduct direct-selling business in the provinces of Fujian, Shan'Xi, Sichuan, Hubei, and Shanghai. All licenses are effective immediately, except Shanghai, which will be activated after the company opens its service outlets. Additionally, the company's license for Beijing, which was granted in July 2008 with the same exception as noted above for Shanghai, is now active.

4Life Research, a US direct selling company announced that its Malaysia market has broken sales records for each of the past seven months. In addition, the market experienced a 75% increase in sales from January–May 2009 over the same period in 2008. This announcement comes just a few short months after the opening of new auditorium, training, and executive space adjacent to the 4Life Malaysia office in Petaling Jaya. The 4Life Malaysia market has nine offices throughout the country, with two more planned for the upcoming year.

The Direct Selling Association of Malaysia (DSAM) today launched an enhanced version of its code of conduct, a set of guidelines advocating the practice of ethical direct selling and consumer protection. DSAM president Paul Yee said the code, which was in line with the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations' code of conduct, was first launched in 1998.

These companies are: Americraft Cookware (Cookware), GreatLife International, LLC (Nutritional Supplements), Jus International (Antioxidant Drink), L'Bel USA (Skincare and Cosmetics), LikeWear, LLC (Licensed apparel and accessories), Maddy Moo Creations (Custom Purses and Fashion Accessories) and Phoenix Trading (Greeting Cards, Paper Products).

Last week Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF - News), a global nutrition and direct selling company, welcomed Marco DeAngelis, M.D. of Italy and Alexey Borisov, Ph.D. of Russia to its Nutrition Advisory Board.
The nutrition advisory board is comprised of leading experts around the world in the fields of nutrition and health who educate and train Herbalife independent distributors and, in China, sales employees, on the principles of nutrition, physical activity and healthy lifestyle. The board is chaired by David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
